I Just Cannot Get Check Factory to Install on a Station

The following steps will ensure a clean installation with no data loss or user configuration loss.

CLOSE CHECK FACTORY ON ALL STATIONS AND ON THE SERVER.

Open the Check Factory VS for xxxx folder on the server from the server console or a station.

Delete any instances or copies of WorkstationSetupVS.exe. Do not maintain multiple versions of WorkstationSetupVS. Running an older version will immediately break your installation.

Download the latest one from here:
http://checkfactory.com/v5/Download/Updates/Updates.htm
Save it to the Check Factory VS for xxxxx folder on the server share.

Clear the contents of the BIN folder.

If you cannot clear the BIN folder, one of the stations or the server is holding a file open. You will have to close CF on the station or reboot the station. You may have to reboot the server.

 Go to a station.

Reboot the station.

Navigate to the Check Factory VS for xxxx folder on the server share.

Run WorkstationSetupVS.exe. If prompted to uninstall please uninstall and then run it again to install. You must have local admin rights on the  station to install Check Factory because you are installing a driver.

Accept all the defaults.

The latest version of Check Factory should be installed and all stations should be operational.
